Constant hum in my left ear...

The strangest thing...I've had this constant hum in my left ear. It started a couple of days ago. Actually, when it started in would go all day until I went to bed. When I woke up, it wasn't doing it. Today it didn't do it all day, except it started again this evening. Has this ever happened to do you before? It doesn't hurt - just this constant hum and only when I'm not talking. Crazy. Better go to the doctor, I guess.
